On the first week on this enrichment, we were introduced to atomiclearning.com.  atomiclearning has many different tutorials to watch, and you can learn about almost anything from it.  On the first week we watched the video, "intro to word".  This was helpful because we use word a lot during school, for essays and stuff, and we also use it for personal use.  We also look at how to make a bibliogrophy, which we also use a lot for research papers during school.  In this tutorial i learned many different ways to set up a work cited, and also where the work cited link can be found.

On the second week we learned about netvibes, and places like this communication network.  During this tutorial, i also made my own netvibes, which was interesting.  It was really easy, using atomiclearning tutorial's all i had to do was listen to the video, and it told me how to do everything.  Even though i probably didn't need to watch the video to figure it out, it was that simple.  You can customize it and everything.  I also learned how to make my own wiki page, which is this page you are reading.  This is extra sweet, because u can add as many videos and images as you want.  Also, you can make links to other websites you like, make a list, change font size, color, and even highlight it.  Or you can attach a file you made.  It is like your own personal webpage, that you can change or update whenever you want.

Then, on the third week, Mrs. Minor taught us about Windows Movie Maker.  This was a review for me, because i took a whole semester class on it last year.  Even though i took that class, it was still fun to make a movie again.  It's really simple, just import the pictures, the music, then drag on drop.  It also has cool features, like the transitions that you can use.  It has many different transitions, and all you have to do is drag and drop them onto the boxes.  More cool features are the acually picture options.  You can brighten them, or shorten them, speed them up, or even zoom in or out with them.  It also has an option where you can make credits, or text on the page.  Movie Maker has a lot of cool options.

Finally, on the last week, we did newsletter, and excel.  I did learn a lot on this day, because i never had done any newsletters, and had only done basic excel.  Excel has a lot of options i never knew it had.  Knowing excel will help us later on in our school year, and also when we are adults and do our own taxes or etc.  Excel has a lot of hidden features that i never knew about, and I bet you never noticed either.  I can't think of all of them, there is so much.  Pie charts, line graphs, and even bar graphs.  News letters are also more complicated that I thought.  You can't just put words together and call it a newsletter.  It's really complicated, but i think it will help us later because we will need to know how to for our future job.

I think this class should be offered again, because it shows you a lot of stuff you need to know for school, and alter on in life.  Even if you don't learn much new stuff, you get a username and password for atomic learning, so you can learn new stuff that you did not know.  I liked most about this enrichment that you can learn about whatever you want during your freetime, and that you had a lot of freedom to make whatever type of movie or whatever you wanted.  The thing i liked least was that it was 4 hours each week, from 8 to 12, which is too early.  I chose this class because i wanted to learn how to most help my studying, and learn more features about programs.
